Karen is an awarding-winning conservation artist who splits her time between Laguna Beach, California and Merna, Wyoming.  Karen paints in the style of scientific illustration, frequently working from actual specimens she lands on the fly.  Scientifically accurate down to the number of scales along the lateral line, Karen's paintings combine the attention to detail of a scientific illustration with the aesthetics of fine art.  A strong conservationist, Karen hopes her paintings will inspire others to become involved in conserving aquatic ecosystems, and she donates 10% of her proceeds to conservation each year.
