With all this warm weather we have been having the lake fishing has still been going great! It is very abnormal to be catching perch in January in 40 to 50 degree weather. Perch are being caught at the hole in the wall. on amflyfishing perch rigs in glow color using baby roach minnows or crappie minnows (fatheads). the fishing in the river on 95th and 92nd street is also producing bigger fish than normal. Once the water clears up some more and the sun is able to penetrate to the bottom of the lake, the fishing at Gary light should be phenomenal. once the clay heats up a tad, the sand fleas will move out of the clay and the perch will be having a feeding frenzy!

whitefish are still being caught at the Michigan City pier and a few are taken by perch fishermen at the hole in the wall. the best rigs to use for these fish are using a pyramid sinker then have a short leader with a size 12 RED gamakatsu hook or you can put two hooks on the rig like a perch rig. use either bee moths or a single egg on each hook.

Brown Trout are being caught in all warm water discharges. using roaches, squid or jig and squid. the best has been the shipping canal and gary light. For show angler they are being caught behind the gambling boat at east chicago marina using roaches under a bobber 6 to 8 feet down.

Steelhead are still in the creeks of salt trail and little cal. they are being taken on spawn sacs.

Walleye are still biting at wolf lake on jerk baits. and crappie are being caught in the corn channel.

Good luck guys i hope you guys get some!
